Health Fair at Centennial Hospital

Frisco-Online.com had a booth at the Health Fair today so Dana and I volunteered the event. They had a great turnout and I was pleasantly surprised by how many people came up to me and were interested to discuss their ideas and concerns regarding Frisco. All of the kids at the event enjoyed watching the Careflight Helicopter take off and land. I grazed on cookies and candy all afternoon….perfectly suiting for a health fair!

Teachers on Ice!

Tonight we took the entire family to Teachers on Ice. If you have never been, it is a wonderful event that benefits the Frisco Education Foundation. It pairs the teachers of Frisco in a grudge match hockey game. My kids loved the game and the turnout packed the house.

I got 3rd place in the “Chuck a Puck” contest and won my boys an autographed hockey puck. I cannot quite make out who actually signed it but I am sure it is someone very important 🙂

Frisco-Online.com’s 2nd Annual Kid’s Safety Day

Today we have our 2nd annual kid’s safety day at Legacy Christian Academy. The weather did not hold up for us but we did need the rain. Despite the poor weather he had another great event. A few hundred families showed up to learn bike safety, get car seat checks, get finger prints and ID checks, learn pool safety, and much more! We even got to see the Care-Flight helicopter land in the parking lot!

This is quickly becoming a great pre-summer tradition that we really enjoy doing. Thank you to all of our volunteers that helped make this a great event.

Relay For Life

After our softball game, our family headed over to the Frisco Relay for Life Event. Frisco-Online has become the perennial top fund raiser. Our team raised over $10,000 for cancer research this year.

My kids got to se the illuminary dedicated to Dana’s mom, who died of cancer a few years ago. Zach still remembers his mimi and said he was glad she was in heaven.

The event was held at Pizza Hut Park this year which was a great venue. And we finally had great weather after the last 2 years of terrible weather.

The Power of a Dream Golf Classic All Sports Challenge

Today I was invited to participate in the The Power of a Dream Golf Classic All Sports Challenge. Last year’s winner was Tony Romo….before he was famous. Frisco-Online.com is helping sponsor this event and so they invited me to participate along with loca celebrities and media members.

It was a fun competition that included long drive, closest to the pin, chipping and putting. My golf game is rusty so I did not win. However, my playing partner was Burton Gilliam – perhaps better known as “The Pace Picante Sauce, ‘Git a rope,’ Man.” He now does the Rodeo Ford commercials with the catch phrase “I don’t care how you get here….just get here.” He was a riot and a great deal of fun to play with.

The event this weekend is at the Trails golf course and is a great event to attend with the family:

Frisco Family Services Boots, Bandanas, and Bowties Gala

Wow, what an incredible event. Kudos to Frisco Family Services for a first class event. The highlight of the evening was the auctioneer, who had Dana and I still chuckling on Sunday. Unfortunately, I did not win the Lexus raffle. However, I was the winning bidder on a custom spa package for the 6 ladies that work for me (boss brownie points), a gift basket from RoBears Gourmet baskets, and a gift card for a pizzeria. It was all great fun in the spirit of charity!
